Charles, a retiree, gets a new lease on life when he answers an ad for a private investigator and becomes a spy in an undercover investigation at a nursing home. Based on the Chilean documentary “El Agente Topo.” Remake of El Agente Topo (2020). I’m not a binge-watcher, but we binged the entire season on the first night. It has that right mix of warm, funny, sad, and deep with a storyline that keeps you hooked. Ted Danson is great, of course, but Stephanie Beatriz (Diaz in ’99) is amazing and her character is someone you’d want to spend all your time with. It’s set in San Francisco, which of course helps my rating, but most of all, while it’s very sad at times, it’s a comedy and gives hope for the future as we all get a little older. A solid eight out of ten for me, one for all ages, and hopefully another season.
