Scenario
An author returns to his hometown of Jerusalem’s Lot to find inspiration for his next book, only to find that the townspeople are being attacked by a bloodthirsty vampire. Writer Gary Dauberman told Den of Geek in June 2019 that his goal with the new version of Salem’s Lot is to make vampires scary again. It wants to get away from the sexier, more romanticized undead that have infested pop culture for most of the past quarter-century, thanks to everything from Interview with the Vampire to Twilight to The Vampire Diaries. When Ben reads an old newspaper on microfilm in the library, the headline reads “Local Drunk Victims”.

Good action scenes
There was definitely a good spooky atmosphere. It had the makings of a good horror movie, I just think it would have done better as a mini series. We needed more time to get to know these characters better. More time to develop those relationships.
It does not have the character of nothingness
I think Lewis does a really good job acting with what he’s given, but his character needs more development. His story doesn’t feed into the story in any way, except for the vague "only outsiders win" in a way. Like I thought him being a writer (besides the obvious Stephen King) would serve some purpose, like he could do research, but no. The only other thing we know about him is that his parents died when he was a child, and that serves no purpose either.

Again, at least Lewis does a good job with what little he’s been given. But like I said, I think the mini series would be better if you gave more time to the characters. See what movies and TV shows are airing this month.
