Salesman: Glass is unbreakable, so your coffee table will last forever. I recently rented the Spanish thriller The Coffee Table (2022) on Prime. The plot is about a couple who have recently become parents and learn to work together. One day, the husband is left alone at home to take care of a newborn baby, while the wife is away from home and returns home with dinner guests.
The premise of this film is crazy and gripping
The husband has an accident, and the night takes a dramatic turn for the worse. The film is directed by Caye Casas and stars David Couple (Friend), Estefanía de los Santos (Unit 7), Claudia Riera (Black Snow), and Josep Maria Riera (Asylum: Twisted Horror and Fantasy Tales). Fantasy Tales). The events unfold quickly, and the viewer is left writhing as they try to imagine how someone would handle the situation.
When the reveal happens, it’s mind-blowing
The acting is excellent, perfectly capturing the difficult situation. The setting and atmosphere are tense and engaging, with a constant sense of an “elephant in the room” that only one character and the audience knows about. Overall, The Coffee Table is an exceptional horror/thriller that is well-written and even better executed. It’s a slow burn, but a brilliant, tragic journey.
I would rate it 8/10 and definitely recommend it
