An American remake (in English) of the French series HPI (2021)
Scenario
It follows Morgan, a single mother of three, as she uses her extraordinary mind to help solve a crime while also reorganizing evidence during her shift as a cleaner at the police department. Despite her very high IQ, excellent memory, and extensive knowledge of the secret, Morgan makes some basic legal mistakes that anyone who has ever watched a legal show on TV would know she doesn’t make. For example, in the first episode, she retrieves a document from a locked safe in the suspected victim’s law office that would never be admissible in court: illegally obtained evidence. It also couldn’t be used to obtain other evidence: a violation of the legal doctrine of “fruit of the poisonous tree.” In episode 2, he needs to be reminded to put on gloves before handling evidence at the crime scene, and in episode #3, he removes all documented evidence from the police station, completely breaking the chain of custody and making anything you downloaded no longer admissible in court.

HPI Remake (2021). I’m really a sucker for any series/movie that shows someone with a unique ability hidden behind a personality that just doesn’t fit. The main character has exactly that. His life seems to be a bit of a mess, he’s all over the place, but…
She plays the exhausted one so well!
he’s very intelligent and notices details that other people with a wealth of experience overlook. I was already a fan of Kaitlin, so it’s no surprise that I love her here too. I appreciate that every episode solves a case. I’m tired of series that last a whole season or more.
This show does its job
Give me a solid story and conclusion in under an hour! It’s well paced, has some funny lines, and is overall a lot of fun to watch. I really want more episodes. I just hope they don’t cancel it after one season like everyone else these days.
